\n\u201cPICO: Un parlante de Africa en America\u201d
\n<\/strong>
\nPICO: Un parlante de Africa en America<\/em> is a documentary on the Colombian tradition of the Picos, namely vividly decorated sound-systems which animate celebrations on the Atlantic Coast. Although the history of the Picos dates back to the 60s, their roots are even deeper: they belong to slave trade times when the Colombian coast covered a strategic role in commercial routes. Colombian port cities were access points for technological devices, culture and music from Western Africa which paved the road to the birth of the culture of the Picos. Thanks to many interviews on the spot, it has been possible for the protagonists of this tradition to expound such a multifaceted topic with dazzling visual and musical aspects.
\nThe direction of Invernomuto & Jim C. Nedd gives equal space to both a kaleidoscopic coste\u00f1o environment and the spontaneous development of a story which hasn\u2019t been written yet.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Simone Bertuzzi (Piacenza, 1983) and Simone Trabucchi (Piacenza, 1982) have been collaborating as Invernomuto<\/strong> since 2003. Although their work focuses primarily on the moving image and sound, they also integrate sculpture, performance and publishing into their practice.
\nRecent solo shows include The MAC, Belfast (2017), The Ifth of Oofth<\/em>, Pinksummer, Roma (2017), Africa Addio<\/em>, Pinksummer, Genoa (2015), Artspeak, Vancouver (2015), Anabasis Articulata<\/em>, Triennale di Milano, Milan (2014), Mars\u00e8lleria, Milan (2014), Negus \u2013 Far Eye<\/em>, Museion, Bozen (2014), I-Ration<\/em>, ar\/ge kunst, Bozen (2014) and Simone<\/em>, Padiglione d\u2019Arte Contemporanea, Ferrara (2011). In 2017 Invernomuto won the Museion Prize 1 (Bozen).
\nTheir work has been shown at Kunsthalle Wien (Vienna), Nuit Blanche 2017 (Paris), Museion (Bozen), Unsound Festival (Krakow), Kunstverein M\u00fcnchen (Munich), Bozar (Brussels), FAR\u00b0 (Nyon), Centre d\u2019Art Contemporain (Geneve), B\u00e9tonsalon (Paris), Live Arts Week V (Bologna), Istituto Italiano di Cultura (Addis Ababa), Nettie Horn Gallery (London), American Academy in Rome (Rome), MAXXI (Rome), PAC Padiglione d\u2019Arte Contemporanea (Milan), Vleeshal (Middelburg), Fondation Ricard (Paris), Black Star Film Festival (Philadelphia), Centre Pompidou (Paris), Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo (Turin), Hangar Bicocca (Milan), Netmage 07\/09 (Bologna), Premio Furla (Bologna), No Fun Fest 2009 (New York), Biennale Architettura 11 (Venice), Viafarini (Milan), Fair_Play (Lugano), Domus Circular (Milan).
\nInvernomuto is a MAXXI Bvlgari Prize finalist. In 2018 Invernomuto develops the ongoing project Black Med<\/em> for Manifesta 12 (Palermo).
\nInvernomuto is represented by Pinksummer gallery, Genoa.
\nBertuzzi and Trabucchi have developed individual lines of research into sound with the outlets Palm Wine and STILL, respectively Invernomuto lives and works between Milano and Vernasca (PC).
