Asino d’Oro (Golden Donkey, first prize)
2720
Dir. Basil da Cunha

We decided to award the main prize to a film which, thanks to its excellent camera work, unexpectedly draws us organically into a simple story set on a seemingly common day in a pleasant family neighborhood, which is at first glance full of unpleasant secrets. Great work with non-actors, breathtaking cinematography, and the overall lack of respect for the established film genres keeps the audience in constant suspense until the closing credits. A real cinematic treat.
The Golden Donkey Award goes to 2720 by Basil da Cunha.

Jury Special Award
Nuestra Sombra
Dir. Agustina Sánchez Gavier

NUESTRA SOMBRA by Agustin, Sanchez Gavier

The Special Jury Award goes to a film that depicts a dark story set during an especially dark day. The excellently written script offers us all the clues to quickly unravel the plot but still leaves us breathless after the final scene. Gloomy magical realism in a unique setting and execution, to which the use of the film’s raw material literally adds another dimension. The jury decided to give the prize to an emerging talent whose work should be followed in the future.
The Special Jury Award goes to Nuestra Sombra by Augustina Sanchez Caviar.

Special Mention

Shrooms
Dir. Jorge Jácome

The special mention goes to this film for the director’s ability to create a story on the border between documentary and fiction, so that the audience is left in doubt about its authenticity. The watching experience is shaped by a narrative that follows a very contemporary character living in an interspecies relationship with nature. Questions about legality or Illegality are left to the discretion of each viewer.
The special mention goes to Shrooms by Jorge Jacome.

L’Onda – Young Jury Award
Shooting Watermelons (Sparare alle Angurie)

Dir. Antonio Donato

Shooting Watermelons wins the L’Onda Award for sensitively and genuinely depicting on screen issues that are always present within a family, and thus society, dominated by a macho and cynical collective imagination, as well as for touching on youthful restlessness ironically and in a pop key.

Young Jury Special Mention
Tako Tsubo
Dir. Fanny Sorgo, Eva Pedroza

Our Special Mention goes to Tako Tsubo for successfully portraying universal themes with great illustrative ability in both narrative and graphic terms, summarizing them in a few verses.
