Program
Tuesday, August 19
4:30 pm – MUSIC: A REAL GAME (workshop for children aged 3-6)
A workshop meant to bring children closer to music, with freedom and no rules whatsoever. Held by music therapist and pianist Martina Spagnuolo, it will be a moment of play and propaedeutics in order to totally engage children in the sound experience, through the use of body, voice, and musical instruments, and thus encouraging their active participation by giving them the opportunity to fully experience the festival theme.
In collaboration with Città del Sole Piacenza
At the same time:
4:30 pm – BAM! PERCUSSION FOR EVERYONE (workshop for children aged 7-12)
Everything, or almost everything, can produce sounds, especially if with “sound” we mean “percussion”! A workshop, held by the Association Tempus Fugit Percussion, aimed at allowing children to play with rhythm and stimulating group work, in order to explore the several possibilities that percussion can offer us: known, improvised and creative musical instruments.
5:30-6 pm – snack time! Offered by Fonte Plose and Eataly Piacenza
6-7 pm – Screenings of short films on music

Wednesday, August 20
4:30 pm MUSIC IN NATURE (workshop for children aged 3-6)
An enchanted journey thought for children featuring sounds that describe the sun, rain, birds and wind. Through iconic classical music pieces children will be guided to “see” and “listen” nature thanks to instruments, their body and drawing. Created by Beatrice of Piacenza Bambini, in collaboration with Città del Sole Piacenza.
At the same time:
4:30 pm WHAT SOUND ARE YOU? (workshop for children aged 7-12)
An entertaining journey into the world of sound. Are you able to recognise the flute? And the sound of the sea? And the song of the goldfinch? In this special workshop held by Enrica Carini, we will discover together where sounds come from: some are produced by nature, others by musical instruments. We will listen, play and try to guess and describe what we hear: who sings? Who is playing? We will create a leporello, a small, folded booklet, in which we will write down all the most beautiful (or strangest!) sounds we hear every day. An experience full of magic for curious ears and listening hearts! What sound are you?
5-6 pm – snack time! Offered by Fonte Plose and Eataly Piacenza
6-7:30 pm – Screening of short films on music

Thursday, 21 August
4:30 pm – Workshop for teachers, educators, parents. HEALING WITH MUSIC: music therapy. Music therapy is a discipline that uses the power of music to improve physical, emotional and mental well-being. The workshop is aimed at adults interested in music and music therapy as useful tools for the education of the individual. We will outline such discipline and its field of application, then we will turn our attention to the infinite possibilities that music has in developing relationships and communicating, as music is a tool that can foster the development of children and help us to take care of others so that their quality of life can significantly improve. This is based on the assumption that music is a universal language, accessible to all at different levels, as it activates and stimulates us cognitively, physically and emotionally in a unique way.
At the same time:
4:30 pm PAPAGENO | music, shadows and cinema by Lotte Reiniger (workshop for children aged 3 -12) Collective workshop held by Enrica Carini in collaboration with Conservatorio Nicolini of Piacenza. The short film Papageno, created by Lotte Reiniger in 1935, is the perfect synthesis of the themes that are close to our hearts. It combines cinema, music, and nature in a tale that has been enchanting children and adults for centuries, ever since Mozart’s the Magic Flute was first performed. In our workshop, we will stage the story of Papageno thanks to the shadow theatre: the figures of the main characters will stand out as silhouettes against an illuminated background, mirroring the atmosphere of the short film and offering us a pre-cinema experience. All this will be accompanied by a trio of wind instruments thanks to the collaboration with the G. Nicolini Conservatory of Piacenza, specifically the ‘Musica d’insieme per strumenti a fiato’ class of Maestro Daniele Balleello.
5:30-6 pm – snack time! Offered by Fonte Plose and Eataly Piacenza
6-7 pm – Screening of the best international short films for children
