The Competition is the very core of Concorto.
46 films that represent not only the direction cinema has taken in the last year, but especially the directions cinema will take in the near future.
Filmmakers have engaged in several themes, from the responsibilities of individuals towards society to private relationship and choices, from nowadays neurosis to the deepness of the human mind. They have used a variety of styles and techniques that constitute a good spectrum of today cinema.
25 countries are represented, with a special attention to Europe, still the main place in which directors experiment new themes and languages. Of the 46 films in competition, 21 have never been screened in Italy before.
